LinkedIn Marketing 101: 5 Ways to Level Up Your LinkedIn Posts

LinkedIn is more than just a professional networking platform—it’s a powerful marketing tool for businesses and individuals alike. Whether you’re looking to build brand awareness, generate leads, or establish thought leadership, optimising your LinkedIn content is key. Here are five essential LinkedIn marketing strategies to help you level up your posts and boost engagement.

1. Start With a Hook

Each year, the average attention span continues to decline, so best believe if your headline isn’t engaging, you’ve probably already lost the attention of the viewer. The first couple of lines are crucial in stopping the scroll. Try a bold statement, thought-provoking question, wild statistic or alternative opinion. LinkedIn only shows a small preview alongside the “See More” button, so it’s imperative to start off strong.

2. Make Sure to Value Add

LinkedIn is a professional platform so users are likely scrolling to gain some valuable industry insights, motivating personal experiences, or educational content. Make sure you tick one of these boxes, whether it is in the form of real life examples or anecdotes, business case studies or whitepapers – make sure you can validate your points with some examples to strengthen your LinkedIn posts.

3. Use Engaging Visuals

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel here, but viewers face fatigue when reading very text heavy posts so try and break it up with some eye catching visuals, high quality images, some infographics or videos.

4. Utilise LinkedIn’s Features

Propel your LinkedIn Marketing by leveraging all of its features – whether it’s polls, LinkedIn articles, or live videos. Try engaging with your audience in different ways, test what yields the best results and make sure to consistently engage with your following through comments and direct messages to increase visibility and fosters relationships.

Without a call to action, what is the point? It doesn’t have to be transactional, e.g., buy now, shop here, book now etc. But it should at least invite a discussion e.g., book in a discovery call, DM us if you want to learn more etc. To put it simply, without a CTA, your viewer won’t take any action, so all of your hard work mastering the art of LinkedIn Marketing will go to waste.
